As the visionary founder and creative director of Sika Vogue, Martina who is also is affectionately called Sika believes that what women wear has the power to empower them and boost their confidence.
She asserts that the right outfit for any occasion should not only flatter a woman’s body but also resonate with her personality. Sika Vogue is a clothing movement designed for all women, offering elegant, stylish, and comfortable outfits that celebrate individuality.
The Birth of Sika Vogue
Raised in Odumase Krobo, Eastern Region, alongside her aunt, a talented seamstress, Martina discovered her passion for fashion, inspired by the fusion of African cultural heritage and contemporary style. While pursuing her law degree in the early 2010s, she began exploring bridal styling, which led to the launch of Sika Vogue in 2016.
The name “Sika,” meaning money, riches, or gold in Akan, reflects the brand’s commitment to wealth in culture and craftsmanship.
What started as a personal endeavor evolved into a brand specializing in luxurious, custom-made gowns for traditional and white weddings.
Drawing from a diverse array of African aesthetics, such as Adinkra symbols, Kente, Aso-Oke fabrics, and other regional textiles sourced from skilled artisans worldwide, Sika Vogue blends vintage charm with modern flair.
The brand celebrates women’s unique silhouettes through meticulous craftsmanship, growing over time to serve Ghanaian and African brides. It has established itself as a symbol of empowerment and style in African fashion, with its story continuing to unfold.
As a dynamic leader, Martina oversees the brand’s creative direction, ensuring each gown narrates a story of empowerment and cultural pride.
